“We’ll just get into it,” Bezos told CNBC on Wednesday.
“If you want to build a world-class company, you’re going to have to be able to get into the market.”
Bezos is known for his outspoken nature and his company’s commitment to transparency.
He said that while he’s always “really passionate about” Amazon, the company has “always been very careful” about the public image.
“You don’t want to get in the way of people seeing the company for what it is and what it’s not,” he said.
Bezos said that he believes Amazon is currently in the “sweet spot” of its growth and that the company is “well positioned” to compete with other businesses in the future.
“I think we’re in a very good position,” Bezos said.
“This is the company that, frankly, has the largest market share, has a very strong position in the online advertising market, has been a leader in technology and in cloud computing.”
Bezos said Amazon has a long-term plan to expand into new markets, but declined to say which ones.
“There are so many,” he told CNBC.
“It’s a lot to do and it’s a big opportunity.”
