Fox News contributor and “Blonde Haze” blogger Katie Boulding said in a tweet that she “always thought I looked like the other blonde hairdos.”
But, Bouldings, who goes by the handle @TheRealKatieBoulding, said she now “takes my blonde hair and gives it a sexy twist.”
“I’m always trying to add a little flair to my hair, like a little more sparkle,” Boulders said.
“It’s so much more natural than my blonde, and I can’t even tell a difference.”
But her hair style has also sparked criticism, with many users on Twitter saying it “looks like a wig.”
Some women said they didn’t want to look like a “bimbo,” while others said it made them look like “babe.”
Some have taken to Instagram to express their displeasure, posting photos of themselves with “blonde hairdo.”
Others said they were “not the blonde haired woman” they had been portraying on social media.
And, in an effort to “clean up the mess” that is the hashtag, some people have started to create “hair extensions” to give their hair a more “natural” look.
